Johns Hopkins Security has been made aware of an armed robbery that involved an affiliate as he was walking to work at the East Baltimore campus.

Johns Hopkins Security has been made aware of an armed robbery that involved an affiliate as he was walking to work at the East Baltimore campus.  The incident occurred at approximately 9:47AM this morning in the 1400 Block of E. Lexington (between Silver Court and Caroline Street in the Douglas Homes complex). The victim had parked his vehicle and was walking towards the Hopkins campus when he was approached from behind and pushed to the ground by three male suspects between 16-18 years old. The suspects choked and struck the victim in the face multiple times, took the victim’s personal property, including car keys and stole his car. The victim sustained minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.

SAFETY TIPS

  • All faculty, staff and students are reminded to remain alert and aware of their surroundings.
  • When walking, whenever possible walk in groups of two or more.
  • Utilize 24/7 escort and transportation services while on campus.
  • Should you find yourself the victim of an assault and or robbery, do not resist and do not pursue suspects.  Always remember to stay calm, listen and observe intently, surrender any requested property and report the crime as soon as possible.
