Two JHU affiliates were robbed of their cell phones while waiting for the JHU shuttle.

EAST BALTIMORE CAMPUS

It has been reported to Corporate Security that on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at approximately 1:25 p.m., two JHU Affiliates were standing in the 600 block of N. Broadway waiting for the JHU shuttle and talking on their cell phones. Two unknown juveniles between 14-16 years old approached them and grabbed their cell phones out of their hands and fled southbound on N. Broadway.  JH Security gave chase as one suspect was last seen fleeing into the Douglas Homes complex, and the second suspect fled east on E. Fayette out of view. Baltimore Police responded and are investigating the incident. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident. As a reminder, always be alert and aware of your surroundings.

SAFETY TIPS

  • All faculty, staff and students are reminded to remain alert and aware of their surroundings.
  • When walking, whenever possible walk in groups of two or more.
  • Utilize 24/7 escort and transportation services while on campus.
  • Should you find yourself the victim of an assault and/or robbery, do not resist and do not pursue suspects.  Always remember to stay calm, listen and observe intently, surrender any requested property and report the crime as soon as possible.
